Recipe: Perfect Salmon Tofu

  2. It's 1 block of Firm tofu.
  3. It's 1/2 of Onion.
  4. It's 1/2 of Carrot.
  5. It's 200 ml of Dashi stock.
  6. It's 1 tbsp of Sake.
  7. Prepare 2 tbsp of Mirin.
  8. Prepare 2 1/2 tbsp of Soy sauce.
  9. Prepare 2 slice of Fresh ginger (thinly sliced).

Stir the salmon and tofu in the sauce in the shallow dish. Heat coconut oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add rice and stir fry for another minute. The first thing I do to prepare this salad is to cube the tofu and drain it.

Salmon Tofu instructions

  1. Lightly drain off the water from the tofu and slice into bite-sized pieces. Slice the onion thinly lengthwise with the grain, and cut the carrot in half lengthwise then slice thinly into half-moon shapes..
  2. Put the dashi, sake, mirin, soy sauce and ginger slices into a frying pan, add the onion and carrot, and turn on the heat..
  3. When it comes to a boil add the salmon and tofu, put on a lid and simmer for about 10 minutes at low-medium heat. (After about 5 minutes, take the lid off the turn the salmon over.).
  4. Turn off the heat and let it sit for a while to allow the flavors to be absorbed..

To drain the tofu, place it on some paper towels to draw out the liquid. This is an important step, so don't skip it or the salad sauce will get be diluted. Salmon and tofu with tausi sauce is a dish that's definitely on top of my go to fish recipe. Luckily when I did my weekly grocery, I stumbled upon fresh salmon at a very cheap price.
