- You need 200 grams (6 oz) of golden syrup.
- You need 120 of grams(4oz) brown sugar.
- It's 230 grams (8 oz) of Porridge Oats.
- It's 4 of large Apples.
- It's 120 grams of Glace Cherries(quartered).
- It's 2 tablespoons of Dark syrup (Molasses).
- It's 120 grams of Butter or margarine.
- Prepare of Lemon juice.
Fruity Flapjack instructions
- Wash, core and dice apples. Put in a small container dish with a few shots of lemon juice and water, to prevent browning..
- In a medium saucepan, the golden syrup, dark syrup, brown sugar and butter until just melted..
- Add oats and stir in well..
- Strain water from apples, add them to saucepan, along with the quartered Cherries. Stir in well..
- While that is heating, butter a baking tray, (8 x12”)..
- When mix starts to bubble, pour into tray and smooth top with a knife..
- Cook in a medium to hot oven for about 30-40 minutes until firm to the touch.
- Leave it the tin for about 5 minutes, cut into bite size pieces. Leave to cool completely. When cool, scoop out and enjoy!!.
