- Prepare 1/2 cup of Louisiana Fish Fry (lemon flavor).

Put the salmon patties on a rack in a baking pan and place it in the preheated oven while you cook subsequent batches. Salmon Patties make the perfect family friendly, Friday meal during Lent but are enjoyed here all year long.. This was my first try at salmon patties and it was a big success! We had pre-cooked plain salmon patties that were about a quarter pound each that came in a bag so It was a fine opportunity to use up these drab little patties.
Big Daddy's Salmon Patties step by step
- Debone salmon and place in a large bowl..
- Keep the water from the salmon. Place in a small bowl..
- In a separate bowl manually beat 1 egg for 10 seconds. Add to the salmon..
- Add the remaining ingredients (except the cooking oil)..
- Mix all ingredients together. Until the mixture can be formed into 1 inch balls.
- Note: If the mixture is too dry add some of the water that was drained off of the salmon. If the mixture is too wet add more fish fry to it..
- Medium Heat: add 1 tablespoon of cooking in a medium skillet..
- Cook the patties for 5 minutes on each side (or until golden brown)..
- Serve with your favorite side dish for a wonderful and savory meal!.
Also used dried parsley instead of fresh and coconut oil. The patties were gobbled up and quite filling on their own. My nine year old daughter even likes this. She did like it better when I made it with cracker crumbs rather than bread crumbs. I bought "traditional" salmon in a big can and was grossed out by it.
